Tartan Week Lochcarron starts on Friday 26th September 2025. The festivities include an art trail taking in several galleries, cafes and artists' studios. Here you can find more details about the individual artists' open studios


Venue 2 - Carron Pottery

Visit the bustling Carron Pottery - where working potters Rob and Peter Teago are hard at work most days! The Carron Pottery has a large gallery upstairs, with a extensive gift and pottery shop on the ground floor. During Tartan Week they are offering 10% off pottery purchased instore.



Venue 3 - Vik Stonebridge

Vik Stonebridge Balnacra Arts & Pottery by Vicky Stonebridge runs Balnacra Pottery in the 18th Century former blacksmiths at the Smithy Hub 2miles East of Lochcarron. Vik produces a wide range of hand made Pottery and Art on the premises, as well as teaching pottery there. Inspired by the local landscape, nature, history and lore, there are affordable souvenirs, tableware, decorative items, through to sculptural ceramics.

Original Artworks, graphic novels, & cards by the artist are also available at the studio.


Studio open 10.30 to 16.00 Monday to Saturday during Tartan Week.

Venue 4 - FREEDOM FRAMERY

Venue 6 - TAMASINE QUAYLE

Tamasine Quayle is an artist and illustrator who specialises in watercolour, gouache and coloured pencil . Her work is inspired by wildlife, archaeology, mythology and folklore and she is usually based in Kishorn. During Tartan week she will be running an open studio in the Treehouse where she invites anyone to drop in without booking and work on any creative endeavours.

Tamasine will be present to offer guidance and support or just chat over a cup of tea.

The Treehouse Open Studio will be open 10-3pm Sat 27 -Sat 4th Oct.


Venue 7 - Mo Burton

Mo Burton, pastel artist, is holding open house from 11am-4 pm daily, Saturday 27th Sept to Sunday 5th October


She is up on the hillside above Croft Road 100 yards or so past 'The Wee Campsite'. Look out for the poster with this painting at the roadside. IV54 8YA.

Venue 8 - LYNN ROBERTS @ SEACOT STUDIO

Lynn Roberts is a busy artist working in multiple media, and running workshops through Tartan Week in watercolour and oil painting outdoors.

Venue 8a - HANDMADE BY INGRID

Ingrid makes beautiful items with various tweeds and tartans, and also using crochet. Items to wear and small gifts. "Handmade by Ingrid" is her brand name.

She intends to be open every day from 9-4 during Tartan Week.

Venue 9 - THE OLD BUTCHERS SHOP CAFE - JOE WHITE PHOTOGRAPHIC GALLERY

Stop for a coffee or a bite and enjoy the fantastic work on display from outdoor photographer Joe White. With a focus on the stunning Highlands Landscape, there are framed, unframed and assorted sized prints available.



Venue 13 - AILEEN GRANT

Along near Slumbay, Aileen Grant Artist will have her studio open during Tartan Week.


Opening hours are 11am to 4pm daily from Monday 29th September to Saturday 4th October.


She has paintings and prints you can see, and she's also planning to run some printmaking workshops. More over on her page.https://www.facebook.com/AileenGrantArtist


Look out for her sign - her studio is at the back of the house at Dochart, Lochcarron IV54 8YQ (along Church Street/the road to North Strome).

Venue 14 - STEVEN PROUDFOOT

Steven Proudfoot, painter, has a studio along near Slumbay (IV54 8YQ).


He will be open by appointment only, so if you want to visit please phone him on 07584 229405 or email Steven.proudfoot@gmail.com.


He is a landscape painter, and his main mediums are watercolour and mixed media. He has framed and unframed pieces available. Here's a photo of his studio.

Painting mainly landscape , I try to capture the essence of the Highlands and the magnificent surroundings where we are lucky enough to live (like this one - Highland Shores). The Boatshed , on the shores of Loch Kishorn , is my studio and I welcome any visitors who would like to come and have a look . On the days that I am not here , do message me or phone me to make an appointment , and I will be more than happy to come and meet you

Venue 16 - GILLIAN PATTINSON

Gillian likes to paint outside, on site, as much as possible. For ease of carrying materials around and working quickly, she uses acrylic or pastel. "I try to convey not just the scene but the feeling it gives me - the magnificence ,the energy, wonder, or calm. I feel so fortunate to live in such amazing scenery."
