Lochcarron
Sailing Club
Formed in 1988,
the Lochcarron Sailing Club has become an established part of village
activity.
The village
has a two-mile frontage on the mile-wide loch, sheltered from the
worst of west-coast weather. There is sheltered mooring in Slumbay
harbour. There are visitors’ moorings off the hotel at the east end
of the village, with a pier/slipway for access to the water. The
Loch opens out to the Inner Sound between the mainland and Skye,
providing access to all the admirable cruising grounds round the
islands and the sea lochs of the north-west coast.
