Vicky Stonebridge was trained in Ceramics at Edinburgh College of Arts. She set up the Business of Balnacra Pottery at the now demolished site of ‘The Gates’ at Balnacra, Achnashellach. This moved to her studio adjacent to the Smithy in 2001. Since the pottery’s closure in 2005, Vicky is no longer producing Pottery but She has worked on many community art projects, produced an animation which was shown at an international film festival and worked as a art-worker with a Young Carers Charity. She is also on call over 120 hours a week with the Lochcarron Fire and Rescue Service. Vicky draws inspiration for her paintings from her own passions, interests & experiences. These include images of fire fighting, as well as the more traditional landscape art. She also regularly produces Comic strip art for a range of UK independent comics & magazines. Vicky enjoys working on a freelance basis with people, teaching and running workshops, creating recycled art and working in Schools. For her CV, further details or to buy Art prints please contact her.

I’m a professional artist-printmaker working in the centre of Lochcarron. Trained as a designer at Birmingham College of Art (as it then was) I did post-graduate research at Leicester College of Art. Five years in Milan and London followed, working on Sforza Castle Museum, Warwick University, Standard Chartered Bank and the QEII. I then taught architecture and design at Dundee College of Art, before moving to Edinburgh College of Art to head my own department, specialising in the adaptive redesign of redundant buildings, plus museum design and scenography. Through all of this, a parallel life as an artist-printmaker was a necessary support and is now my way of life! My work has been bought widely and is found in public and private collections here and overseas. Subjects include the figure, landscape and architecture. Paintings are in oil or acrylic or watercolour; original print techniques include monotype, lino-cut, woodcut, collagraph, dry-point and digital, used singly or in combination. My gallery at Corrack opens irregularly - but notionally 12 -5. Phone to check!
